Education for Sustainable Development is an essential component for achieving the 2030 Agenda. In this context, the National Defence College (NDC) has developed a curriculum including on the 2030 Agenda on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the National Security and Strategic Studies Course in collaboration with the University of Colombo, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, and in alignment with other international Defence Colleges and Universities.

The DG of the Sustainable Development Council, Chamindry Saparamadu, delivered a lecture on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Sri Lanka's 2030 Development Agenda under the subject module "Economic Security: Regional and Global Compulsion” and engaged in an interactive discussion on the current SDG progress, the challenges and the initiatives to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

The participants were senior officers of the Armed Forces and the Sri Lanka Police, as well as foreign military officers representing Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, India, and Oman.
