Bilateral meeting between the Executive Secretary of UNESCAP and the Secretary to the Treasury.

A bilateral meeting was held between the visiting Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, (UNESCAP) and Under-Secretary-General to the UN, Dr. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana with the Chairman of the Sustainable Development Council, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena, Secretary to the Treasury, and Director General of the Sustainable Development Council, Ms. Chamindry Saparamadu recently.

During the discussion, the current economic stabilization and reform program carried out by the Government of Sri Lanka was discussed at length and the support extended by the UNESCAP in the areas of strengthening SDG data ecosystem, development of the National SDG Progress Dashboard to facilitate SDG follow-up and monitoring process, capacity building for SDG financing and enhancing the contribution of the private sector to sustainable financing, etc., was greatly appreciated and the attention was also paid to future areas for collaboration.
