University of Kelaniya and Sustainable Development Council enters into a partnership to promote education and research on Sustainable Development.

An agreement was entered into between the University of Kelaniya and the Sustainable Development Council of Sri Lanka (SDCSL) for collaboration in the areas of education, research, curriculum development and e-learning on Sustainable Development.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Prof. Nilanthi de Silva and the Director General of the Sustainable Development Council (SDCSL) Chamindry Saparamadu at the SDCSL premises this morning.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nilanthi de Silva noted that within higher education, considerable progress has been made in sustainability education as well as interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary research. The Director General of SDCSL, Chamindry Saparamadu reaffirmed the critical importance of science-policy interface for sustainable development and that through partnerships with diverse stakeholders SDCSL aims to create platforms to enable same.
