The 2024 SDTF, held by UNOSD in Incheon, Korea, focused on advancing inclusive, science-based solutions to achieve the 2030 Agenda and SDGs, ensuring no one is left behind.

The 2024 Sustainable Development Transformation Forum (SDTF) on “Advancing Sustainable, Inclusive, Science- and Evidence-Based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to Leave No One Behind” was convened by the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD), in Incheon, Korea from 29-31 October. The Forum brought together a diverse array of participants, including policymakers and government officials at all levels, civil society, local communities, youth, academia and the private sector to a dialogue on the challenges and solutions and the strategies to expedite actions for realizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through peer learning exercises and sharing of success stories and lessons learned.

During the Roundtable Discussion on "Fuelling Future Green Growth - Competing Crises, the Demographic Dividend, and Decent Jobs," the Assistant Director of the Sustainable Development Council (SDC) Nadeeka Amarasinghe highlighted key issues underpinning Sri Lanka’s SDG progress including the implications of the demographic dividend, the impact of women’s economic inclusion, decent jobs, and targeted investments on future well-being and green growth. She emphasized the importance of science and evidence-based policy in addressing these competing crises and mitigating future challenges.

The 2024 SDTF also provided reflections on the outcomes of the Summit of the Future and previewed themes for the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). Based on the current global frameworks and the latest scientific insights, the Forum heavily drew on the five levers of transformation suggested in the 2023 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR)—governance, economy and finance, science and technology, individual and collective action, and capacity building—to inform discussions and recommendations for advancing sustainable development both nationally and globally.
