In the past week, the Sustainable Development Council (SDC) organised and took part in several meetings with local and international experts to discuss the prospects of a Blended Finance Facility concept for Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector. SDC has worked in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lanka Banks Association to conduct research on this important topic, and have also met with local and international representatives with the ADB, UN Resident Coordinators office, UNDP, SLYCAN Trust, FAO etc to assess how it can complement the ongoing efforts to develop Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector.

SDC together with its partner agencies are working towards forging an alliance committed to supporting an agricultural transition through entrepreneurship and high-impact investments. SDC will continue to work with experts in this sector and collaborate with local stakeholders as part of its goal of mobilising targeted, accessible finance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
