A virtual data validation workshop for Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka

A virtual data validation workshop for Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka was conducted on 13th July 2021, to validate data for SDG Indicators relevant to assess progress towards SDG 04: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Eight indicators, including the Proportion of children and young people achieving at least a minimum proficiency level in reading and mathematics, Completion rate of primary, lower secondary and upper secondary  education, Proportion of teachers who have received at least the minimum organized teacher training etc. were validated during the session. 
This workshop was attended by senior officials representing the Data Management Branch, Statistics Branch and Education for All Branch attached to the Ministry. The technical discussions were led by officials of the Sustainable Development Council with contributions from the Department of Census and Statistics and the UNDP Sri Lanka.
